TÜB Term President, Kırklareli University Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent ŞENGÖRÜR, Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Erhan TABAKOĞLU, Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Prof. Dr. Sedat MURAT, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman ÖZDEMİR, Secretary General of Thrace Universities Union, Dr. Instructor Muhammet ATALAY, Vice Rectors and academic and administrative staff of the member universities of the Thrace Universities Association attended.

Making the opening and presentation speech of the workshop, Kırklareli University Vice Rector, responsible for Social Responsibility studies, Prof. Dr. Nurettin AKA emphasized that social responsibility should be carried out under a corporate roof in universities. He stated that they established the "Community Relations Coordinatorship" in 2019 in order to carry out social responsibility studies in universities in a systematic and coordinated way. prof. Dr. Nurettin AKA, at the end of the workshop at the end of his speech, said that the topics discussed were “1. Social Responsibility Workshop” will be published as a booklet.

Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Rector Prof. Dr. In his speech, Süleyman ÖZDEMİR stated that social responsibility has gained importance and important studies have been carried out as TÜB. He stated that social responsibility studies will be one of the indispensable elements of universities. He also mentioned the importance of social responsibility studies in both education and recruitment processes of students. He said that the students carried out many social responsibility projects within the scope of the volunteering course.

Tekirdag Namık Kemal University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent EKER, on the other hand, mentioned that social responsibility is very important in the accreditation process, and that studies are carried out on how to provide social contribution in the fields of peer work, student mentoring, solution center and accreditation.

Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Rector Prof. Dr. Sedat MURAT emphasized the importance of contributing to society, apart from providing a good education within the scope of the objectives of universities and carrying out educational-research activities. He pointed out that when students are instilled with a sense of social responsibility, their relations with the society will be better and that this work should be carried out on a voluntary basis.

Trakya University Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan TABAKOĞLU said that the Trakya Universities Union is in unity in social responsibility studies as in other fields. Our university stated that a center was established in the field of social responsibility studies and that the center started its activities. He stated that a budget was allocated from the BAP project fund for social responsibility projects. He thanked the Rectors of the member universities of the Trakya Universities Union and everyone who contributed to the workshop.

TÜB Term President and Kırklareli University Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent ŞENGÖRÜR emphasized that society and universities should be intertwined. He said that our educational institutions, whose main purpose is the education and training of students, also work for students to touch people and to gain awareness of social responsibility and sensitivity in addition to their diploma while graduating. He also stated that taking part in social responsibility projects is now among the conditions sought for recruitment, and therefore he wishes our students to participate in social responsibility projects.

After the opening speeches, the invited speaker, Kırklareli University Faculty of Law, Head of Public Law Department Assoc. Dr. Seçkin YAVUZDOĞAN made an informative presentation on “The Legal Basis of Social Responsibility Studies”.

Under the title of “Social Responsibility Studies Practice Examples”, the workshop was attended by Assoc. Dr. Fatih ALTUN, from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Assoc.
